As I work on editing my first novella, Eyewitness, I can’t help but be excited and wanted to share a taste. The fast-paced tale is inspired by chapters 9 & 10 of John’s Gospel. Some readers have reached out asking for a peek, so here’s a glimpse, from page 35 of the manuscript:
“Sometime deep in the night, I woke to the raspy brushing sounds of my father’s snoring. The house was completely dark. The candle and her shadows had concluded their performance for the evening.
I wondered if I dreamt of Jesus because he was the first person to enter my mind. Where was he at this hour? Where was his home? Who did he help today? Whose life was changed while the Pharisees interrogated my parents?
I was both angry and amused at the authorities. They did not want me walking around with open eyes, telling my story, yet they desired to hear it again themselves. My final thought before drifting back to sleep was, they have a real problem on their hands.”
As you can see, it is written in first-person. July 2 is the go-live date! I can’t wait for others to experience the story that’s been bouncing around in my head for the past 15 years! Yes, that’s right…15. Never give up on your dreams. The journey is the real joy!

I do not even know how I ended up here, but I thought this post was great.
I don’t know who you are but definitely you’re going to
a famous blogger if you are not already 😉 Cheers!
Absolutely loved the book. I’m not a big reader; but this had me from the start. I read it in one sitting. I hope I don’t have to wait another fifteen years for John’s next novella; or better yet, novel. Well done!
Can’t thank you enough, Paul!! Could I trouble you and ask you to also post a short review on Amazon? Click here: Good or bad, the more reviews Eyewitness receives, the more likely Amazon is to suggest it to others.
Already done. I guess they are reviewing my review before posting it.
